Make Poverty History
St Cross Church is supporting the MakePovertyHistory campaign
Traidcraft and Christian Aid are part of MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY, a unique alliance of 100 UK charities, campaigning groups, trade unions and celebrities, aiming to become the most powerful coalition ever against world poverty.
This year, the opportunity is unprecedented for rich countries to turn the
MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY, dream into reality.
2005 will feature:
March 11 The Commission for Africa Report published
April 10-16 Global Week of Action
July 6-8 The UK hosts the G8 summit (demo on July 2 in Edinburgh)
July 20th Anniversary of Live Aid
July-Dec The UK holds the presidency of the European Union
Sep UN Millennium Development Goals Special Summit
We want world leaders to rise to the challenge at hand - and we want you to
help us make it happen. MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY, wristbands are now available from Traidcraft and Christian Aid for £1 apiece.
They are also available from St Cross Church.
