Soul Spark
New spirituality workshop aims to fan the spark of the soul
The first of a series of prayer and spirituality workshops created by Nick Helm is to begin on Tuesday 15th June at 7.30pm. The aim of this group is to fan the spark of the soul into flame and to provide an opportunity to practice different ways to pray.
As part of our GAP initiative, one of our aims as a community is “to travel closely with God and enjoy him – deepen faith and discipleship, nurture and develop ourselves”. It is hoped that this series of workshops, one a month over a number of months will help us with this.
The workshops will provide an opportunity to “attend to soul life, to dispose oneself to the Spirit of God, to pray, to reflect, to share and explore the dynamics of the spiritual life.”
Different workshops will consider
Approaching Spirituality, Journeying with God, Who am I, God of Grace, Called to Become and Journeying On.
They will last approximately 2 hours and be interactive, (but very gentle!) They will provide a valuable opportunity to step away briefly from the hurly burly of our usual day by day routines and to experience different ways of praying in a safe environment.
