Christmas 2022 Toy Collection for Ruby's Fund

Once again throughout November we will have the opportunity to collect Toys for a very worthwhile cause.

Ruby was born in 2007 with a rare and incurable condition that affects her development and the Fund in her name was set up in 2008 by Alison, her mum.

The sensory play centre and community café are based in Congleton, but the support service runs throughout the whole of Cheshire East.

In October 2021, Alison decided that she wanted to offer support to all families, and Ruby’s volunteer-led Family Support Service began offering much needed low-level help to families who are struggling with a variety of needs.

A telephone Befriender might make a wellbeing check-in call once a week to a mum who is alone and socially isolated;

A Family Support Mentor might make a home visit for a couple for hours each week to support a new mum who is anxious or a Group Support Volunteer might welcome families, make a hot drink, or help do craft activities with the children/parents.

All our Christmas toys will be allocated to families who are struggling financially.

How can you contribute?

Please buy and do not wrap your gifts

  • Toys and gifts for children 0-13 years.
  • Craft equipment is such as paper pads, books, pens/pencils and fact books are always good for older children
  • and puzzles/ games/toys for the younger ones.

We will welcome Ruby’s fund representatives to our Morning Prayer Toy Service at 10 am on December 4th
