Following the launch of our Lent Appeal in February St Cross Parishioners have responded with a great deal of generosity to our appeal for new clothing. Even through the difficulties of lockdown and the church being closed for public worship, the flow of clothing and financial donations came streaming in, in order that we could hand over essential items of clothing for local people facing difficulties.
At our morning service last Sunday, April 18th, we were delighted to welcome Rachael and Jodie from the charity My Cheshire Without Abuse to receive these items which will enable the charity to support local people in vulnerable situations. The clothing will be used to help individuals or families to be offered a positive move forward to develop a secure and stable future. Covid19 has had a major impact even in the most loving and stable of homes, causing severe strain on many relationships. MyCWA is there to support anyone who is living in a vulnerable situation which may be caused by domestic, physical, sexual or financial abuse.
We are also grateful to ASDA at Northwich who freely supported this appeal with clothing too.
I would like to add my personal thanks to Mary, our Reader Minister, for organising this project and for raising this worthy cause, once again, to our attention.
