On Sunday October 25th, at the end of the morning service, and before our Annual Meeting the whole congregation stayed behind to say 'thankyou' to Judith Broughton who has served our church with dedication for many years, and also served as Churchwarden (twice). There was a very good collection, reflecting the appreciation and love of the congregation for Judith. Paul, our Vicar, spoke, referring to Galatians 6.10, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith. Paul then presented Judith with her gifts and Judith responded by saying how much she had loved being Churchwarden and that she had always given of her best to the Church. Judith received a crystal clock for the mantelpiece, a small crystal flower jug and a handsome amount of money for Judith to spoil herself. At the following meeting it was proposed and agreed that Judith should retain the title 'Warden Emerita' as a reflection of her service to the church over many years.
